Come to an old fashioned picnic by the lake with something for everyone.

Free Barbeque Picnic Lunch: Barbeque and sides all prepared by our talented outdoor chefs…..we always serve really great food…come hungry! Lunch is at 12:30 PM. Check out the new stone barbeque built by volunteers!

Fishing Contest: We provide the bait! Just bring your rod and reel and a bucket.. Check-in begins at 8 AM with the derby running from 9 AM until 11 AM. Prizes for everyone. Pre-registration is necessary for the fishing contest. Register online at www.campwyanokie.com. Dr. Paul Scollo of Fairfield will help you catch big bass, pickerel, crappie, catfish and bluegills! Catch and release only so bring that bucket to keep them alive!

Stuff For Kids: 11:00-3:00 Games are run by Mike Colletti and staff from Roseland, North Caldwell and Fairfield Recreation Departments and include: Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest (always a favorite), horse shoes, three legged races…..and don’t miss out on the Wolf Howling Contest.

Arts and Crafts with Ms. Carol Gallagher from 10:00-11:00 and 1:00-2:00!

Guided Hikes: You won’t get lost…we promise! This year hikes will be led by members of the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference and Bill Reddan, from Boy Scout Troop 9 . Gorgeous views and wild blueberries!  If you’ve never hiked in New Jersey this is the way to start. Sign up for a hike on line or at the event. Hikes will be scheduled at 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

Live Music: It’s a BIG TENT EVENT !!! The house band from the “The Coney Island Babies Burlesque Review” will entertain us with Hot Jazz: Miss Cherry Delight and The Big Tent Jazz Band with Jeff “ Potatoes Browning” Weinman on piano, Lucy “Hot Lips“Weinman on trumpet, Cherry “Miss Coney Island” Delight - vocals, clarinet maestro Will “Fast Learner” Anderson, and special guests.
